20-year-old singer/songwriter Amber Rahman has just released her debut CD, “Change in the Weather”. The CD, with five new songs and her first single, “Get Me” are currently available for purchase via iTunes, Amazon, Spotify and most music download and streaming services.
The songs focus on traditional country sounds with some pop components mixed in to create a sound that is reminiscent of a young Taylor Swift. The songs were produced over the past year in Nashville and Philadelphia with Robert Venable and Lance Davis engineering and award winning co-writer/producer Paul Lewis. Amber says, “It was a longer process than I anticipated but I'm very happy about how it came out and I'm excited for everyone to get the chance to hear it." Songs include her sassy first single, “Get Me” which received thousands of plays on Spotify, Apple Music and Youtube, touching ballads, “Take on the Fray”, “The Bluff” and catchy anthems, “Don’t Let Me Down” “Believe That” and the title track “Change in the Weather”. “This record really shows Amber’s depth as a new singer/songwriter making her way into the country scene, as she vocally and lyrically connects to emotional subject matter you can feel her truth in the songs.” states label CEO Michel Grey.
Rahman, originally part of the vocal group TruVoX, was noticed by label reps at a showcase where she performed one of her original songs, then signed to Realize Records at 18 years old. Since then she has performed at The Bluebird Café and festivals while simultaneously managing to maintain a 4.0 grade average in college. The CD, going for adds at country radio this month will also have songs featured in a short film currently in development. Rahman, who is also a trained actress can be seen in her feature film debut as the character Meghan in the thriller, “Days of Power” currently in select theatres.
